Each "season" (seasons for fashion are normally Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter)
a fashion forecaster predicts what colours, styles and shapes will be popular ("on-trend") before the garments are on sale in stores.
I have pieced together fashion styles for the upcoming Spring season from a few popular clothing websites online as well as the source WeConnectFashion.com.
WeConnectFashion is a fantastic site for trends, runway shows and various fashion events.
Trending items/fabrics/colors for Winter & Spring 2012
Gymboree girls is playing with a bright color palette of lime green,fuschia pink,orange,light blues
and browns.Flower Blossoms,Stripe and a garden variety of snails and turtles for prints
and accessories.
Boys Gymboree items for this season are Navy blue,Light Blue,Yellow and Plaids in these colors.
The title of the collection says Construction Crew but the plaid prints and casual style
has me thinking surfer style meets dinner party.
Rugby long sleeve tees, Plaid surfer shorts and kahki cargo pants.
Crazy 8 has a variety of Panda Themed items to bring in the new year and jazz up your
spring apparel.
Sweater dresses,ruffled front jackets, appliqued jeans and panda cutesy print tees.
The colors are similar to an older line by Gymboree of turtle items.
They are lime green,spring green,hot pink ,black and white.
Shoe trends I see so far for kids are casual canvas printed mary janes, Plaid skater
shoes for boys and patent leather simple bow front (to the side of the shoe)
mary janes for dress up church days.
On another note for those who enjoy watching the runways and prefer more couture designer
styles for their children the trends are the following for boys and girls I am seeing.
For the kids I am seeing a softer side of spring and summer. Hues of color are spring greens,light brown,
denim chambray, seesucker gingham and even some dip dyed silk screened prints.
Lightweight linen western yolked shirts with vintage floral prints. Simple ribbon tie closure tank
style dresses matched with a simple cardigan make for transitional clothing from cooler weather
into the summer months. A tank dress or sleeveless dress is what us southerners
would call a staple item. Our warm weather lasts a good while and goes into the autumn season.
While browsing I did see some of the 70's style skirt sets for smaller toddler girls. Open back
with one button closures creating a scallopped edging and pockets on the skirts.
Seems the vintage styles are coming back with a vengence are they not ?
For accessories I am seeing mini messanger bags, suspenders,jelly watches and fabric hairbows.
